The hour when the game goes silent

I love college baseball.

When I was younger, I went to a lot of University of Hawaii baseball games in the days of their legendary coach, Les Murakami Later, as a student at Ole Miss, I got pulled right back into being a spectator of the college game and now I probably watch more collegiate baseball than ever before. That is just one reason why the video and story below resonated with me.

We’re blasted with so much negative and divisive news today. We can easily feel like the culture is collapsing, or that young people are lost or that that many Americans are less prone to civic pride or respect.

And then, somewhere in Dallas, a baseball game stops to remember our veterans and those who have fallen in service to our nation.

I wanted to share this story because it’s a good American habit.

I’ll let the video speak for itself.
